Post-doc position with the Centre for Ethics, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic

The Centre for Ethics as Study in Human Value, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), is seeking to appoint:

·       a post-doc researcher specialising in ethics

Intended start date: March 1st, 2022 (negotiable); contract duration 6 months (negotiable); suitable for early-career researchers

We are seeking to appoint an early-career researcher to join the team of the Centre for Ethics as Study in Human Value. This is a research-only post. The successful applicant will be given academic and administrative support to pursue his or her own work. In return he or she will be expected to publish with international impact, and will have the opportunity to collaborate with other members of the Centre by way of joint grant project proposals and to participate in the Centre's lively research environment. We welcome applications by researchers in ethics whose work fits the research profile of the Centre. Priority will be given to applications from candidates with an interest to apply for further funding with the Centre, such as MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship or Czech Science Foundation Postdoc Individual Fellowship.

Qualifications required:

Must have an advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent awarded by the intended start date). Concurrence with another employment abroad is not possible (exception is unpaid leave).

- Copy of research degree documentation. Documents that are not originally in Czech or English must be translated into English. If the application is submitted before the Applicant’s Ph.D. defence, the Applicant must enclose a signed declaration of its date that must be prior to intended start date of the employment.

- Letter of motivation (1 page)

- Description of planned research for this position (1 page)

- Description of future research plans, including planned grant cooperation with the Centre for ethics (1 page)

- Names and contact details of two academic referees

- A sample of academic writing (e.g. a paper) relevant to the research area of the Centre for Ethics
